Cookie Notice

The browser storage and analytics tools BubsBookings currently uses, and the controls available to you.

1. What this notice covers

This notice explains how BubsBookings uses cookies and similar browser technologies, including local storage. It supplements the Privacy Policy. A cookie is a small piece of data stored by a browser; local storage keeps preferences or identifiers in the browser.

2. Necessary and preference storage

BubsBookings uses session and security cookies or storage to keep users signed in, protect requests, complete Google sign-in, and provide account and marketplace features. Browser storage also remembers choices such as theme, time zone, selected service area and radius, whether the location prompt was shown, a temporary post-login destination, and, during Google signup, the general location you entered until you confirm it in Account Settings. It does not store precise browser coordinates for that purpose. Blocking or deleting necessary storage can sign you out, reset preferences, or prevent account features from working.

3. Affiliate referral attribution

When you follow a valid link from an active BubsBookings partner, BubsBookings stores a random, first-party, HTTP-only referral attribution cookie for the duration configured by that partner program. It lets a later provider signup be connected to the referring partner without exposing the affiliate record to browser scripts. We also record the referral code, landing page, time, and limited UTM campaign fields. The cookie does not itself identify a customer to the partner. It is cleared after a successful provider attribution, and that attribution then locks to prevent later links from changing it. You can delete the cookie with your browser controls before signup.

4. Optional browser analytics

If you select “Allow analytics,” BubsBookings stores a random first-party analytics identifier in local storage and records browser events such as searches, zero-result searches, page and listing views, sharing actions, and an abandoned Stripe checkout return. Google Analytics 4 also loads and ordinarily stores a random client identifier in the first-party _ga cookie to distinguish browsers and sessions. These tools can use identifiers, device and browser information, pages visited, event timestamps, referral information, and IP-derived approximate location. Google states that GA4 uses an IP address at collection time and discards it before the address is logged or stored. Optional browser analytics stays off unless you allow it.

BubsBookings also uses Privatus Analytics for cookie-free measurement of website visits, pageviews, engagement, performance, and interaction diagnostics. Privatus states that its script does not use cookies. We do not send Privatus custom analytics events containing passwords, payment details, private messages, street addresses, or other sensitive customer information. Because it does not use cookies, Privatus is not enabled or disabled through Cookie choices.

This choice does not remove account, booking, payment, refund, dispute, safety, or other transaction records that BubsBookings creates when you use those features. Those operational records are used to provide, secure, support, and account for the service as described in the Privacy Policy; they do not require an analytics cookie or local-storage identifier.

Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services, documents GA4's default data collection, and provides a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

5. Advertising and sales

BubsBookings does not currently use third-party targeted-advertising cookies, sell personal information, or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that changes, this notice and the Privacy Policy will be updated and any legally required choice will be provided before the new use begins.

6. Your controls

The analytics choice shown on your first visit applies to both BubsBookings optional browser analytics and Google Analytics. Choose “Continue without analytics” to keep both off, or “Allow analytics” to enable them. You can change the choice at any time with “Cookie choices” in the site footer. Choosing no analytics removes the BubsBookings browser-analytics identifier and first-party Google Analytics cookies that the site can access. It does not disable necessary sign-in and security storage, saved preferences, account or transaction records, or a first-party affiliate referral cookie created after you intentionally follow a partner link. You can also use browser settings, privacy tools, content blockers, or Google's opt-out add-on. BubsBookings does not currently sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is no sale or targeted-advertising activity to opt out of. A browser's Do Not Track signal does not have one universally accepted meaning; BubsBookings will honor legally required universal opt-out signals if a covered use is introduced.

These pages describe the current BubsBookings service and policies. If a product screen appears inconsistent with them, contact support so BubsBookings can investigate and correct the issue.
