How provider booking requests and custom quotes work
Understand each step from a customer request through quote approval, booking confirmation, rescheduling, and completion.

Know which kind of request you received
A direct booking request starts from one of your listings and includes a requested time, delivery method, service details, and the listing’s starting price. A marketplace request is matched by category and delivery type; in-person requests also use city, ZIP code, distance, and service area. Providers respond with free custom quotes. Neither type is a confirmed booking yet, and a private street address is never needed for remote work.
- ✓Direct request: review the listing, requested schedule, delivery method, and customer answers
- ✓Marketplace request: review the scope, delivery method, schedule, flexibility, and optional budget
- ✓For in-person work, confirm the service area before quoting
- ✓Do not treat a request or quote as confirmed work
Send a custom quote before accepting when the scope changes
If the actual job costs more or less than the listing’s starting scope, send a custom quote and explain why. The customer must approve the new price before you can confirm the request. If they decline, send a revised quote or decline the request; do not perform extra work based on an unapproved amount.
- ✓Describe the changed scope
- ✓State the complete service price
- ✓Wait for customer approval
- ✓Keep the decision in the booking record
Use rescheduling instead of informal promises
When timing changes, use the booking’s reschedule controls so the calendar and both accounts show the same appointment. Avoid relying only on a text message that leaves the original booking time active.
Mark complete only after the work is done
After performing the agreed service, mark the booking complete. Customer payment through Stripe must already be recorded. The customer then has 48 hours to confirm completion or open a dispute. If neither happens, BubsBookings may automatically treat the service as complete and initiate the eligible provider transfer. Stripe availability, an account restriction, refund, dispute, chargeback, administrative hold, or legal requirement can still delay or prevent release.
- ✓Confirm payment through Stripe first
- ✓Perform the accepted scope
- ✓Record approved changes
- ✓Mark the correct booking complete
- ✓Keep job evidence until payment is settled
Keep every request moving
Review new requests, send clear quotes when needed, and keep booking status accurate.
